Sunday Sermon Notes

Here’s a glimpse into my church notes from yesterday’s sermon. Simple truths that will help us live for God.

Psalm 37 (NIV)
10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.

Let's break that verse down a bit...

Depart from evil ------- Love to do good.
Love long (and prosper)
His way is the only way.
He can’t clothe us if we are going to clothe ourselves. The blood of Jesus is the only thing that will cover us.
Don’t just be a name only. Live for something more.
Anything that we love more than God is an idol in our lives.
You can’t keep the birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from making a nest in your hair. (Meaning: don’t allow evil and bad thoughts to manifest in your life; make a nest on your head)
Don’t let the world pour you into its mold.
Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.

In order to live long we need to…
1.             Find out where your land is. Where are you supposed to be?
2.             Be determined, strong, and full of faith.
