Friday Youth Service Notes

I really wanted to share my notes from Youth Service a couple weeks ago. I hope at least one thing inspires you. My leader titled this lesson, "Insecurity to Security."
  • Insecurities start because we are thinking about ourselves.
  • When you remove yourself from God's covering, God is no longer obligated to protect you. But out of His mercy He will do what it takes to get you back.
  • Hear and Know God's voice and then obey it.
3 Ways to Stay Spiritually Healthy
1. Exercise what God has given to you. (Your spiritual gifts.)
2. Eat right. (Be careful what you take in. Philippians 4:8-9.)
3. Rest (Wait on the Lord.)
  • Be faithful in the little and you will be ruler over much.
  • Submitting isn't submitting until you disagree.
  • Practice waiting on the Lord.
  • Establish regular study of the word.
Hebrews 4:11-13
11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
  • If you don't know, don't go.
  • Be Spirit led not soul led.
  • Desire what GOd wants for you and not what you want for you.
  • Be able to say no to yourself.
  • Know the difference between soul and spirit.
6 Signs of Insecurity
1. defensiveness: not open to input/correction
2. jealousy: can't rejoice with others
3. selfishness: a "me" centered life
4. accommodating: man pleasing
5. indulgent: addictive behavior, can't say no due to fear of rejections, manipulating, and lying
6. judgmental: falt finding
