Bee: Under Construction

I've always heard that what we see in the mirror as a reflection of ourselves is not our actual image. Well duh... it's a reflection. It's a representation of what we look like at that moment on the outside. What a reflection lacks is a clear representation of what is on the inside. What you're really feeling and all your emotions that are wrapped up in your feelings.

When looking in the mirror you can't see the hurt. You can't see the pain. You can sometimes see happiness if you're smiling but you can also hide a lot behind a smile. It's a hard place to put yourself in; a place where you stare at yourself and dig deep into what your outside may be hiding. But only you can fix you. It's in finding that place of solitude and really seeking and asking what is in the deep caverns of your heart and soul. Finding out what is in those dark places. God has a way of bringing light to those dark places in the right moment and the right time and through the right circumstances.

That's the place I am finding myself in right now. I am in a place of freedom and solitude. A place to be alone with God and my thoughts. A place to really focus on blocking out the on going to-do list in my head. That place is hard! It takes some training and dedication to block out life and allow God to speak. Little by little God is speaking during the minutes where I can block out distractions. Those little words from Him are impacting my life in a big way.

23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. [James 1:23-25]
