Life Lately [according to my phone]

Fat River Rapids- longboard race.
Some amazing sunrises & sunsets have been created by God lately.
Nothing like your brother and his best friend setting up a hammock in the church parking lot.
Mother's Day photo after an amazing meal at P.F. Changs!
Kim Walker-Smith Still Believe Concert with Jesus Culture.
Traditional Memorial Day road trip with the Quartet [my bff & my brother's bff] to Shipshewana. We made some coffee pit stops. Between the four of us, we ended up going to three different Biggby's. Desperate times for some caffeine.
My poor brother was stuck with a broken ankle so he experienced the Shipshewana flee market differently this year. He got to use an electric scooter.
A trip to Indiana would not be complete without Chick-Fil-A. We don't have those in Michigan.

We're Going To The Zoo

I still enjoy going to the zoo as an adult however, it is more fun when you bring kids. This past weekend myself and 4 other friends road tripped to Binder Park Zoo for the day. It was the perfect day. The sun was out and it wasn't too hot or too cold. Just a perfect 68 degrees!
There we were, four blondes and the mexican off to check out all the animals, hike in the swamp, and of course feed the giraffes.

Fat Rapids

So if you haven't realized it already, I really like bragging on my brother and his sweet longboarding skills. (read this or this.) This past weekend was another race weekend.
My brother and I like to travel in pairs, kinda like the Duggar's except we are the only pair of siblings in our family.
Off to Big Rapids we went for the Fat Rapids River Rush. It was cold, colder than I expected, and rainy towards the end. Nate came in fourth and choose some sliding gloves from the swag table. I got a t-shirt, like I do at most races. I never leave a race empty handed.
The race was small and well organized. I love an organized race that starts on time!
The whole day was dope! Brother/Sister days are pretty much the best, especially when there is free swag involved.

For Gnarnia!

Over the weekend my family crammed into our new Subaru Outback at 3am to drive 6 hours to Columbus, Ohio. My brother had his first long distance push race of the longboarding season, the Gnarnia Marathon. I was voted to be the navigator on this trip therefore, I was not allowed to sleep. With 4 iced coffees in my system, I was good to go. The drive there was long but that was to be expected. Once we got thru all the corn fields and into the city of Columbus, it was gorgeous.
The weather was beautiful and perfect for a 15 mile race.
After being awake for 24 hours and stuck in a small car for 4 hours... this is what can happen.
Two racers were representing Michigan riders. Nate (left) and Jared (right).
Both amazing riders!
One of my favorite moments was when some dood came up to me and said, "Hey, is that the guy that works at a coffee shop? I saw him on youtube!" HILARIOUS!
Nate WON! He finished in just over an hour. No one expected anyone to finish that fast so there was no one waiting at the finish line except for our family and a couple other parents.
People's minds were blown!

Spring Break Road Trip

Dear faithful readers (all two of you and my mom), I apologize for the lack of posts.
Time to get back at it.
Over spring break we took a road trip to G-ma's. My G-ma lives about 2 hours away on the East side of Michigan. She lives in the middle of all the favorite places I love to shop. WIN-WIN!
I bought a lot of fun things. (that will have to be a separate post)
Traveling with a family of adults can be difficult and quite fun at the same time. Everyone wants to listen to their own thing and I always want to take a nap. Between my brothers gas issues and my moms hot flashes we might as well have kept the windows down the whole trip.
Cheapest coffee drink ever! (super iced coffee w/one pump of vanilla and soy-$2!)
It's organized... in a messy kind of way.
brother and sister back seat entertainment options- JT and pokemon
FroYo at IKEA is a must!
Found this gem of a photo at G-ma's house.
Bee, all fancy in her sailor dress (which I hated) during preschool graduation.
